Coaxial or Coax Cable has a solid copper or copper-clad-steel centre conductor surrounded by an insulating layer, surrounded by a conducting shield. Coaxial Cable is a shielded cable used for carrying lower-frequency signals, such as audio video signals. We have coax cables that are meant to be buried underground, that are Plenum rated for use around commercial air duct systems, dual and quad shield, and siamese, bundled with another coax, CAT5, CAT6, Fiber Optic, 16-4 & 18-2 wires.
Three most common types of coax cable are RG6, RG59, & RG11.
RG-59 is used to carry video signals in CCTV (closed-circuit television), cable television, HQ HD signals, and other types of video. RG-59/U is a 75 ohm specific type of coaxial cable, often used for low-power video and RF signal connections.
RG-6 is used for cable television, satellite television, cable modems, and other high quality video applications both residential and commercial. RG6 is also 75 ohms.
RG-11 is uded for the same applications as rg 6 but when there are longer video runs.
